Commissioner's Rankings 2024
"Where are the Commissioner's Rankings?" You know what Bruce? Here they are... in a drawn out 12 day series. But before we get to #12, let's discuss a few things.
Injury Report:
We know drafting over a month before the first game of the season is going to lead to some injuries, so let's get an update on who has been injured.
Puka Nacua - Week-to-week with a knee injury. Expected to be ready for Week 1
Christian McCaffrey - Out for preseason with calf strain.
Sam LaPorta - Hamstring injury. Hamstring injuries suck. This is the one I would be most worried about.
Number 12 - Rusty
I actually didn't mind the reach on St. Brown at 1.03. I would have taken Hill or Lamb myself, but it wasn't the worst pick in the first round and definitely not of the entire draft (more on that later in the ranks). After that I have to question basically every pick you made.
We'll just go in order. Davante Adams, in my opinion, is past his prime and this could be the season he isn't able to carry a shit QB (he has two of them). I did like the Aiyuk pick in the 3rd until the trade rumors fired up a day after the draft. I don't like his rumored landing spots, plus it's hard for a WR to connect with a new QB year one.
In rounds four and five you finally addressed RB, but you had to reach a round early for James Conner when you could have grabbed Mixon, Achane, White, Cook, or a few others (not Chubb) instead of grabbing 2nd and 3rd WRs. I like Conner, just not as my RB1.
The rest of the roster is full of question marks:
-Can Purdy produce again without running? Can Tua stay healthy?
-Are you comfortable with Moss and Singletary as your backup RBs?
-He punted on TE until round 13 and grabbed Shultz, who I loved with the Cowboys, but he looked like a product of the Cowboys offense after his first year with the Texans.
I'm taking Rusty to finish last this year and become the first to win the Golden Toilet Seat three times.
Bold Prediction: None of the four drafted RBs will be starting for Rusty by Week 17.
