Commissioner's Rankings 2024
After a long day off of rosterbating, I finally have a clear head to do the write up for day 8.
Injury Report:
Brandin Cooks left practice and went straight to the injury tent today. That's all I've seen on his status so far. Free agent in Thumper but he would definitely be rostered at some point this season.
I also saw Amari Cooper was injured in practice but now I'm not seeing anything. Something to keep an eye on.
Facts:
Instead of an award (because I'm running out of them), let's look at overall win percentages for week 1:
Cord 1-0 (1.000)
Aron 7-2 (0.778)
Austin 7-4 (0.636)
Rusty 7-4 (0.636)
Bruce 6-5 (0.545)
Dom 4-4 (0.500)
Logan 5-6 (0.455)
Kevin 4-6 (0.400)
Brady 4-7 (0.364)
Clint 3-8 (0.273)
Bryan 2-9 (0.182)
Chris 1-6 (0.143)
Make those week 1 bets wisely.
Number 5 - Chris
I like this team a lot. I just don't like it as much as the top four teams. Ja'marr Chase at 1.12 is insane value. This league obviously weighs RBs more than WRs. Then to turn around and grab Puka, wait two rounds and get Amari Cooper was as good as it can get at WR.
The biggest misstep with this team was taking Stroud in the third. I love Stroud, but the guy doesn't run the ball like the next two QBs off the board, Lamar and Richardson. I just feel like he has to have a hell of a season to outscore either of those guys. Rodgers can be dropped now. He's washed and Jets will finish third in the division with the same record as last year.
Before we get to the RBs, lets just look at the rest of the team. Pitts at TE is scary since he hasn't done anything since his rookie year, but I don't mind the pick that late in the draft. If anyone can make him a top 5 TE, it's Cousins. Jets D is obviously going to put up points each week too.
Finally, the biggest weakness, even if it's not a huge one. People underestimate Walker. They have a new coaching staff that can't stop talking about his potential this season. I feel like people are sleeping on Zamir White too. He doesn't look like he's going to be a world beater, but he did help me win the Thumper Bowl last season. I only mentioned the first two RBs he took. That's because that's the weakness here. Zeke is old but will get his TDs. He just won't be much more than a bye week fill-in or maybe a flex play. Chuba will be good until the rookie is healthy, he just hasn't shown that next level yet in the NFL.
Bold Prediction: Kenneth Walker finishes as top 5 RB.
