Commissioner's Rankings 2024

Day 5! We've got a few preseason games under our belts. Luckily no season ending injuries so far. Jayden Daniels looked like a fucking star. Definitely going to help with my final ranking.

Injury Report:

Like I mentioned above, no injuries of note but more and more rumblings that CMC's injury could be worse than they're letting on. Something to keep an eye on.

The "Why are you the way you are" Award:

Nominees:

Bruce, Bryan, Kevin, Chris - For all taking QBs in round 3.

Austin - For reaching on TE again.

Rusty - For never drafting an RB in the first three rounds.

Bryan - For drafting 3 QBs.

Bryan - For taking a Kicker in the 7th round.

With three nominations he was the overwhelming favorite to win this award, but which nominee of Bryan's will take home the trophy? I'm going with Kicker in the 3rd. I came in to this thinking 3 QBs, but he already dropped one of them. We'll get into the issue shortly...

Number 8 - Bryan

You can stop reading here, because Bryan may have a below average draft, but he'll work his way into the playoffs. If you're still wondering why I ranked him so low, continue reading.

Let's go by position, starting with QB. Mahomes finished last season as the QB10. Everyone thinks he'll bounce back because Kelce had an off year and now he has Rashee Rice in his second year, plus Xavier Worthy. He probably will bounce back, but is he worth a 3rd round pick when he hadn't taken an RB yet? Goff doesn't matter. When you have Mahomes you don't start anyone over him.

RB is my biggest issue with Bryan's team. Aaron Jones looked washed last year. Now he's going to a new team that barely has a QB. I can't see Jones, who is now 29, putting up RB1 numbers. The rest of his RB room is full of "RBs of Yesterday" with Pollard (RBBC), Ekeler (RBBC), and Dobbins (RBBC). All on new teams and all in committees.

WR is strong with Tyreek and I think Higgins will have a bounceback year. My problem is I really don't like Diggs. Idk why but I just think he will be the second best WR in Houston at best. The Bills wrote him out of the gameplan late last season for a reason.

The rest of the team is of course full of top guys: Kelce, Tucker, Bears D. If two of those RBs can put up even RB2 numbers, then he'll be fine. He also puts in the time to watch the waiver wire which always helps him. I would bet Bryan still finds the playoffs.

Bold Prediction: Kelce and Mahomes both finish outside the top 3 at their positions. None of the RBs finish top 10.
