Week 3 Preview

Three weeks in and we only have three undefeated teams left. One of those teams is guaranteed to lose this week. The losses must have scared a few people because the FAAB was flowing finally.

I think there were a few injuries this week but I don't remember because my team is healthy. Let's just look at waivers.

Waiver Report

There were two big ones this week: Jordan Mason and Isaiah Likely.

Chuba Hubbard - $76 Bruce

So Chris drafted Chuba and dropped him after a terrible week 1 performance for Allen Lazard. Didn't look too awful at first, but Chuba had a great week two and then got a real QB in the backfrield with him. $76 is a lot of FAAB, but Bruce needed a 3rd RB pretty bad.

Carson Steele - $50 Clint

Did Clint need a 3rd RB? Yeah, just as bad as Bruce did. Instead of paying up for Chuba, he spent 25% of his budget on an unkown, undrafted rookie. This was the play in my opinion. Steele looked good in preseason. We know Chuba can be good, not great. We don't know what Steele can do, but he's on a better offense and his only competition is Perine, who has never been great, and Hunt, who hasn't played football in over a year.

Power Rankings

Not sure about these power rankings to be honest. Dom goes from number 1 to number 11 just because Kupp and Mixon get injured? We may be looking at new power rankings in the coming weeks.

Chris stays at the bottom of the pack again this week as his team continues to struggle.

The power rankings still believe in Cord just like I did in the preseason, even if he is 0-2. He needs to start winning games quick.

Austin sits at 2-0, but the power rankings still don't believe in him. Let's see how long this winning streak can last.

Week 3 Games of the Week

Aron (2-0) vs Bruce (2-0)

We're only down to three undefeated teams after two weeks. Unless Austin and Bruce can stay undefeated through Week 5, this will be our last undefeated matchup of the season. So who is going to win?

Bruce continues to have the best roster in the league. He loses Kupp and Deebo. Replaces them with Chuba, Quentin Johnston, and Kareem Hunt. Not saying any of these three will pan out long-term, but they're pretty good pickups.

Aron has also lost some important pieces this year. AJ Brown and George Kittle are huge pieces to replace, but Aron luckily had Goedert on his bench and he took advantage of Deebo sitting out by picking up Jauan Jennings.

These are the top two scoring teams in Thumper, but Bruce has outscored Aron by 40 points through two weeks. That's a pretty good gap. On top of that, Aron has only has 170 points forced against him through two weeks (lowest amount in Thumper), 30 points less than Bruce.

These teams look pretty even to me this week to be honest. It helps Aron that Bruce already got .3 points from one of his starting RBs. Even before that I think I would have taken Aron this week. I don't like Chuba or Brian Thomas this week in their matchups and I basically love all of Aron's matchups.

Commissioner's Pick: Aron (Record 2-0)
