Week 4 Preview

Last week I said we could only have two teams left undefeated going into week 4. We did not make it that far. We are already down to one undefeated team. Congrats Aron. Let's just take a moment for the absolute amazing managing job Aron did this week. Loses Kittle and Deebo, two of his centerpieces, and replaces them with Goedert and Jennings who combine for 63 points. He almost beat Cord and Kevin with just those two guys. He actually outscored their entire matchup 170 - 136.

On the other side, we still have three teams that haven't won a game yet. Yikes! Maybe this will be Clint, Chris, and Cord's week. Well, it will definitely be Cord or Chris's week since they play eachother.

We are almost two months past the draft with not one trade yet. Who is going to make the first trade in here? Maybe some people should check their trade offers... Hint. Hint.

Waiver Report

Really only one big waiver wire add this week:

Jordan Addison - $50

Logan just squeaked out Addison by $48 FAAB. I'm honestly surprised we were the only two people that bid on him aftering seeing some of you all's rosters. The Vikings look amazing on both sides of the ball. The Darnold is slinging it to everyone. Guys named Nailor are putting up TDs. Addison is obviously the second best receiver on this team, so he's worth every dollar Logan spent on him.

Power Rankings

I'm not sure what Kevin did to piss of the Power Rankings gods. Wins his matchup and drops to last place lol. Probably doesn't help he scored 71 points in his win though.

Kind of crazy to see the 0-3 Pepperjack Welgies ahead of three 2-1 teams, but Clint does have a pretty good roster. I can't argue with the rankings.

Nice to see the reigning, defending champion is atop the rankings again.

Overall, I don't really have a problem with these power rankings this week. It doesn't put as much emphasis in the records as ESPN does. Just because Kevin is 2-1 and Cord is 0-3, I wouldn't take Kevin's team over Cord's.

Week 4 Games of the Week

Chris (0-3) vs Cord (0-3)

You know what I love writing about way more than a battle of undefeated teams? Writing about a battle of teams that can't win a fucking game. Especially two teams that should have wins by now.

I take that back immediately. Chris's team is not great. It's really early in the season to say that, but it's true. Stroud's ADP was like QB5 and he's sitting at QB15. All those weapons does not equal points. In fact, let's just go over all his healthy stars right now: Ja'Marr Chase didn't have the best first two weeks but he looked awesome this week.

Okay, now that we've gotten through the good players, let's take a look at the rest of the squad. His other WR's are either hurt (Puka), underperforming (Cooper), flash in the pans (Pierce), or forever WR3 at best (Mooney). His RBs aren't much better: Old (Zeke), bum (White), hurt (Walker). If Puka and Walker can get healthy then Chris has a shot to maybe squeek into the playoffs. Otherwise, congrats on the toiler seat!

Cord is an entirely different story. This team is full of stars that just can't get it together. Kyler is awesome (QB6). Lamb, wilson, Evans are established studs at WR. You got young WRs who have shown flashes in Keon Coleman and Jameson Williams. Then you have Njoku who is hurt, but Freiermuth has shown he can be the guy multiple times.

Biggest thing holding Cord back is his RBs. Swift, White, and Dowdle are all youngish but look like JAGs so far. Cord needs to do something at RB to be a top team like I projected him to be.

This week I'm taking Cord. His RB's may only combine for like 9 points, but Kyler, Lamb, and Johnson should have huge games. Big enough to steal a win from Chris.

Commissioner's Pick: Cord (Record 3-0)
