Week 1 is in the books and we have plenty to talk about.
The Good:
I got only my second week 1 win ever, won my bet with Rusty for a free round of golf, and ended up with the high score for the week. I just wish my team was better. Also, Larry kept up his momentum from last season, finishing with the second highest points.
The Bad:
Bruce's momentum did not continue from last year after making the playoffs for the first time. Austin's lack of momentum looks like it followed him into this season, as he was one of only three to score less than 100 points in week 1.
The Ugly:
Rusty, what the hell happened? Let's just go down the list. Rodgers looked terrible. Elijah and Allen injured. You did have three bright spots in Gibson, Kupp, and Hill but you still failed to score more than 100 points.
Let's get to Game of the Week. Starting 0-2 is difficult to come back from. I know it's early, but that usually means your team is falling apart early. We already mentioned two teams that couldn't even score 100 points in week 1 and they just happen to play each other this week.
Week 2 Game of the Week:
Bad Juju (Rusty) vs Charkwing Duck (Austin)
Both teams have one good RB and question marks at the other RB position. Rusty literally only has one healthy RB. I don't know what he's going to do this week to make up for that. On the other side, Austin has 4 average RBs to slot in to his RB2 slot. I'm sure he'll choose correctly each week too.
At QB and WR we have two opposites here. Rusty has Rodgers who has become notorious for having bad week 1 games. He plays a terrible Bears team this week so he should turn things around. Austin has Hurts who looked awesome week 1. He goes up against the Vikings who just shut down Rodgers. This will be an interesting week for both teams at the QB position.
At WR, Rusty has five startable WRs that looked great this week. No issues there. Austin though has some major questions at WR. He punted on WR in the draft and it showed. Smith scored 0 points. London looked good for a rookie, but failed to put up more than 10 points. Cooper looks hopeless without Watson and Wilson looked like a rookie with a below average QB. The lone bright spot was Robbie Anderson, but can he actually keep up those points? I doubt it but we will see.
I don't see how Rusty can win this week with his RB situation. There's really no one on the waivers that I see could score more than 10 points consistently. Even thought I think austin's WRs suck and Hurts gets shut down by the Vikes, I'm taking Austin in a close one. I could see both teams failing to score 100 points again.
Commissioner’s Pick: Charkwing Duck - Austin (0-1)
Austin, change your name. You don't even have DJ Chark anymore.
