What do DK Metcalf and Austin's team have in common? They both took a huge shit this weekend. Sorry bud, but thanks for the wings and beer.
In other news, Bruce had a huge week with everyone but his kicker and defense scoring double-digits. Aron's squad had a nice game as well, except he may have lost on of his most important pieces for a few weeks. More on that later. Weatherford looks like they have four very strong teams, Bruce, Aron, Logan, Larry carrying their division.
On the other side, Watonga is eating itself alive with only one team above .500 after week 4. I would like to say it's because we're all scoring so much, but we really aren't putting up a shit ton of points each week.
Let's get to power rankings:
The Good:
Free wings and beer! Also Kevin, I know it's hard to start the season 0-4. Find ways to look on the bright-side, like how you haven't made a bench decision that cost you a game yet. Over 4 weeks there isn't any combination of players you could have started to win a game. That's consistent coaching.
The Bad:
Austin, I regret to inform you that you could easily be 3-1 now, but you cost yourself a ton of points starting the wrong players weeks 1 and 2. Literally nothing you could have done this week. I made the benching errors.
The Ugly:
Last week I called Clint out for being the only team to not score more than 300 points through 3 weeks. This week he is the only team to not score 400 points yet and only team that hasn't had 400 points scored on him yet. Even worse, somehow he still has more wins than Austin and Dom. Like I said, Watonga is eating itself alive.
Week 5 Game of the Week:
The Fantasy Football Team (Bruce) vs Red Head Re-Population (Aron)
Whoever wins this week will officially be atop the Weatherford leaderboard, so it was not question this had to be Game of the Week.
Last week I mentioned Ekeler had been a disappointment. I think he heard me after he decided to go off for 31.9 points. Miles Sanders looks like he finally figured out how to be a professional RB as well. Does Bruce have the most deadly RB duo in Thumper?
On the other side, Aron has lost both of his top RBs. Kamara will probably be back in time for this game, but the news is not sounding good for Javonte Williams right now (midnight, Sunday).
At WR and TE, Bruce lost a couple of WRs this week, but he has plenty on his bench to play. I'm sure he'll figure something out. Aron on the other hand has two playable WRs. Nothing on his bench is worth playing. Luckily Brown Squared is quietly one of the best WRs duos in Thumper this year.
But who are we kidding? This is a Weatherford matchup. It's not about RB, WR, or TE. This is about QBs! In fact, it's about the first two QBs that were drafted this year, Allen and Mahomes. Allen has been the 2nd best QB while Mahomes has been the 6th best. Both have awesome matchups this week, so expect fireworks.
It's Game of the Week, but I honestly think Bruce could just blow Aron out this week. I wouldn't be surprised if Bruce wins this matchup by 50 points. For the second week in a row, I'm taking Bruce.
Commissioner’s Pick: The Fantasy Football Team - Bruce (2-2)
Congrats on your win Bruce!
